Beer Tap

Surely you can have a neighborhood bar without serving local libations, but what truly makes a local bar are the locals themselves as well as serving beverages that support the local community.

Whether you prefer wine, beer or vodka, here are three examples of freshly made Michigan spirits, distilled within two hours of the pour.

Getting Ugly

At Carlyle Grill, the main spirit from SE Michigan is Ugly Dog Bacon Vodka (made in Chelsea) it is the title ingredient in the “Chelsea Bloody Mary” which also features a McClure’s pickle spear and a piece of Smith’s Applewood Bacon (three Michigan partners all working together).

Ugly Dog Distillery is Michigan’s premiere vodka producer. We make our hand-crafted batches from Michigan Winter Wheat to obtain the smoothest flavor profiles for our products. We also produce the famous Ugly Dog Bacon Vodka, a smashing hit for Bloody Mary enthusiasts. We’ve recently celebrated our four year anniversary in Chelsea, MI. Come on in and check us out!

Truly A Michigan Winery

St. Julian Riesling is from south central Michigan and is produced by Michigan’s first female winemaker, Nancie Corum-Oxley. Originating in Canada, the founder Mariano moved his flourishing wine making enterprise across the river to Detroit in 1934. 1936 was the year Meconi moved the family to its present location in Paw Paw, in order to be closer to the acclaimed Lake Michigan Shore grape-growing region.

St. Julian Winery is steeped in family and tradition. For nearly a century, our winemakers have embraced the opulent Michigan soil to grow the beautiful grapes that make our wonderful wines. The shores of Lake Michigan boast the oldest commercial grape expanse in the state. Lake Michigan AVA vineyards date back to 1867, with lake effect taming the strong Michigan winters to produce a warmer growing season in the rich glacial moraine soils. We are proud to be a part of this robust tradition of produce, art, and craftsmanship.
